RICK OWENS Temporary Store at 77
On the 24th of April, a temporary RICK OWENS store was launched at 77, presenting his ready-to-wear collection, his BIRKENSTOCK collaboration, and, exclusively in Germany, his latest furniture designs.
Owens’ partner, Michèle Lamy, was performing during the opening night, to music by producer Rocco Rampino.
American fashion designer Rick Owens is based in Paris and launched his eponymous line in 1994. Collections that complement the original label for women and men include RICKOWENSLILIES, DRKSHDW (denim-based), and HUNRICKOWENS (furs). In July of 2005, he introduced a furniture collection; using raw plywood, marble, and moose antlers, the collection is inspired by his favorite shapes from Eileen Gray to Brâncuși to California skateparks. The furniture collection, produced by Michèle Lamy, has since been shown at the Musée D’art Moderne in Paris And The Museum Of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
December 2017 saw the opening of a retrospective exhibition dedicated to Owens’ work at the Triennale Di Milano. From April 24th on at 77, a selection of Rick Owens RTW, Birkenstock x Rick Owens collection, Rick Owens Furniture and Objects, Rick Owens books and small objects, Lavascar Vinyl Records (Conceptual band with Michèle Lamy, artist Nico Vascellari and her daughter, Scarlett Rouge), and smoke balms by Edward Bess x Lamyland will be available for purchase.
