Andreas Murkudis is one of Germany's most renowned and experienced retailers in the design and fashion sector

During his 15 years directing Berlin‘s Museum of Things, Andreas Murkudis firmly established himself in the city‘s art scene and discovered his passion for beautiful things. He subsequently opened his first store AM in a backyard in Berlin-Mitte in 2002, followed by stores AM2, AM3 and Die Etage. 2005 Andreas Murkudis opened the first German ACNE STUDIOS store and a SCHIESSER store in the same neighborhood. Always seeking creative and unassigned surroundings, he moved his universe to Berlin-Tiergarten in 2011. Located in the former print shop of the daily newspaper Tagesspiegel on Potsdamer Strasse, Andreas Murkudis’ eponymous store is now found on 1000 square meters in central West-Berlin, among leading art galleries and museums. The vast industrial space shows his unique selection of products in a museum-like atmosphere.

"Space is to me the greatest luxury—it enables things to unfold fully to the perceiver."

His curation is based on his fundamental belief in clean aesthetics, high quality and longevity. The objects each tell a story of their own and, eschewing trends, prevail through their individual value. The light-flooded, expansive space invites Murkudis' customers to take their time, dwell and become familiar with the art-like objects. In 2015, Murkudis opened his first gallery-like space in Potsdamer Strasse 77, followed by an additional store from 2018 to January 2025 in Potsdamer Strasse 98. The two venues on the same street seek to give creative impetus, frequently hosting brand showcases, art exhibitions and special events. Andreas Murkudis‘ customers come from all over the world and from diverse backgrounds—it is his explicit goal to continuously astonish them with his unique picks and discoveries.
