BATONER is a knitwear brand founded in 2013 in Sagae, Yamagata, a region known as one of Japan’s key centers of knit production. It originates from Okuyama Meriyasu, a manufacturer established in 1951 with extensive experience producing for domestic and international brands. The name BATONER refers to “one who takes over the baton,” expressing a commitment to inheriting and passing on craftsmanship. With control over the entire production process, from raw materials to finishing, the brand keeps its quality consistently high. BATONER reinterprets classic knitwear from a modern perspective. Using natural fibers, it creates pieces defined by texture, durability, and everyday comfort, designed to be worn over time. BATONER is available at ANDREAS MURKUDIS in Berlin.
