Kaptain Sunshine
KAPTAIN SUNSHINE was founded in Tokyo in 2013 by Shinsuke Kojima, a former men’s magazine editor who has collected vintage work jackets for more than thirty years. His designs start from naval uniforms and field clothing, garments made for work outdoors. Fabric comes first: each season begins with twenty to thirty colours gathered on his travels, paired with textures that suit them, and most pieces are made by specialist workshops across Japan. The result is clothing with useful pockets and considered proportions that can be washed without worry, dried in the sun and worn for years.
