KOLOR designer Junichi Abe studied apparel design and graduated from Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo. Involved in the launch of Junya Watanabe’s COMME DES GARÇONS, Abe gained valuable insight into the fashion industry and founded his own brand KOLOR in 2004. The success story that followed led to the opening of a flagship store in Tokyo in 2009. When asked to sum up his design philosophy, Abe says: “Matching the three fundamental elements of clothes-making: fabric, cutting and sewing specs.“ It is his explicit desire not to convey a theme through his collections but rather a vague nuance or mood which is uncertain and hazy.
