SEWMOD is a Guangzhou-based label founded by Wu Qiuxiong in 2016, developed through years of preparation and craft. Originally trained in painting before turning to fashion, Wu approaches garments with a painter’s attention to composition, material, and detail. Working with the highest-quality natural fabrics and meticulous construction, the brand deliberately distances itself from mass production, favoring time-intensive processes and a slower way of making. Its name combines Xiu (embroidery), the act of building cloth stitch by stitch, and Mo (ink), the soot-black pigment of calligraphy and painting applied with brush and water – grounding the practice in patient, hand-driven craft.
