UKA Presentation
We are happy to welcome UKA's IZU series into our space – offering a glimpse into one of Japan's most heartfelt beauty companies. Inspired by 羽化 (UKA) – the moment a pupa becomes a butterfly – this brand weaves an intimate, deeply personal story into everything they create.
Kiho Watanabe's journey began in her father's barbershop, but her spirit was heavily influenced by the energy of Tokyo's nightlife in the 90s. After losing her sister too soon, she and her partner, Hiroyuki Watanabe, channeled their grief and joy into building UKA. Here, beauty isn't about appearance; it's found in life's simple moments, the smiles shared with friends, and true confidence that comes from within.
UKA grew organically, rooted in authenticity and a deep respect for nature. Their salons and spas across Japan reflect this philosophy, offering spaces where beauty and care exist in harmony with the environment. While we may not have their salons here in Berlin, we're grateful to share their new IZU series with you – a line of regenerative beauty that keeps us dreaming of a manicure with Kiho Watanabe, or a night out in 90s Tokyo, where the spirit of UKA first took flight.
Join us for the opening event at Store 81 on April 28, 6–9 PM.
