My friend Markus Bederke, who runs a store in Munich, told me about BOBOUTIC. Filled with curiosity, I visited the brand in Florence. It is a small collective that develops its own fabrics – a rare and highly innovative approach. Their garments are often made from a single material, which is quite unusual. Additionally, they work without scissors, meaning they are completely zero waste as nothing is cut away. Thanks to their unique fabric blends, the pieces are dense and warm, yet wonderfully light and soft.

Michel Bergamo and Cristina Zamagni conceived BOBOUTIC in 2000 driven by their desire to create innovative pieces in which traditional knit-and-stitch techniques were combined with a constant search for new materials and production methods. BOBOUTIC is inspired by the simplicity of everyday life. One of the brand’s most important goals is to find new ways of telling a story through its knitwear wardrobes, in which materials and structures compliment each other.
