I discovered SSSTEIN on Instagram and was instantly impressed. When they opened their first showroom in Paris, we placed an order right away. Their collection stands out with predominantly dark colors, striking oversized cuts, and exceptional textiles.
Ssstein
Kiichiro Asakawa, founder and creative director of fashion brand SSSTEIN, debuted his first collection in 2016 and has developed unisex items ever since. Manufactured mainly in Japan, SSSTEIN is about the correlation of fabric and shape. Asakawa’s approach to textiles is almost mathematical. Some fabrics are specially developed, for example, resin-coated wool for a wrinkle-free effect. Unconventional tailoring is also key: a slightly rounded shoulder line or an arm-hole cut with great precision to minimize folds. The color palette, based on a dozen shades of black, is complemented with nuanced neutral tones of greige, khaki and midnight blue.
