ARPA STUDIOS and ANICKA YI Exhibition

In STORE 81, ANDREAS MURKUDIS orchestrated a multi-sensorial installation with ARPA STUDIOS and the American-Korean artist Anicka Yi. The leitmotif of the exhibition, which opened on September 14th, was ARPA’s scent Recedere, a composition of prunus mume, neroli, styrax and moss. The scent’s artistic counter-piece was Anicka Yi’s Kelp Lamp, formerly exhibited at the Venice Biennale 2019, in the Tate Modern and Gladstone Gallery. In addition, a 20-part series of fungi-shaped resin sculptures were on display. Hand-poured by Yi’s studio, these collectibles were available for purchase. For this occasion, French designer Isaac Reina designed a travel case molded to the perfume’s contours, a leather pouch for the travel size bottle and a necklace that holds the roll-on version. Finally, the installation constituted a large canister containing Recedere for scenting the room in a performative manner.
