MARK STEINMETZ Exhibition with KOMINEK GALLERY

On September 14th, ANDREAS MURKUDIS opened an exhibition of black-and-white photographs by American artist Mark Steinmetz in STORE 77. The 45 portraits and landscapes on display were taken from Steinmetz’s South Trilogy, comprising the books 'South Central', 'South East' and 'Greater Atlanta'. The poignant shots, captured between 1991 and 2009, offer a lyrical and evocative look at American culture and notions of progress – or lack thereof. In collaboration with Kominek Gallery, ANDREAS MURKUDIS presented these striking insights into the American deep south to the Berlin Art Week crowd. The three books were also available for purchase. Mark Steinmetz traveled to Germany to sign copies of his books.
