NOTON

On September 9th, during Berlin Art Week, NOTON presented its latest releases: ALVA NOTO – XERROX VOL. 5, NOTO. – ∞ ENDLESS LOOP COLOR EDITION and ALVA NOTO AND RYUICHI SAKAMOTO – V.I.R.U.S. BOX – together with a selection of archival releases tracing the label's history, and an installation by Carsten Nicolai.

The exhibition returned to questions that have long occupied the artist: the relationship between nature and architecture, between sound and space, between precise structure and intuitive expression. Rather than presenting a set of works, he built an environment, one to be experienced at each visitor's own pace. Still taking shape, it left much deliberately open – to be encountered rather than explained.
